All About Our Flower Cart

We always loved the idea of a self-serve option for our flowers, but we could never find the time to make it happen. Thankfully, we have a lot of talented people in our family. My dad, Mark Milvet, spent many hours in his workshop building this sturdy cart with wheels, painted in our favorite shade of rust orange. It was the perfect surprise for Christmas in 2021!

I have always wanted to make a large mosaic, and for years I’ve had ideas running through my mind but once again, never found the time to collect the tile and bring my vision to life. Once I saw the cart my dad made us, I knew it needed a mosaic. I reached out to my cousin Trisha, whose husband is Bob Yost, owner of Yost Pottery in Akron. He creates the most beautiful handmade ceramic tile, along with many other creations like mugs, vases, home decor, & more. I asked if he had any broken tile laying around that I could use for this project, and he brought over a bunch of boxes of his unique handmade tile in perfect condition. I immediately got to work drawing up a design, breaking the tile, mixing the grout. It was a lot more work than I anticipated, but I love how it turned out. This project was definitely a collective effort, and I’m so thankful to have had the help of my dad and Bob’s beautiful tile to make this one-of-a-kind Flower Cart that we will use to share our flowers for many years to come.
